University of Rajasthan PhD Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria:
1. Applications are invited for admission to the PhD programme for the Academic session 2025-2026. 2. The PhD programme is offered in compliance with University Ordinance 124 (Notification No-40) as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of PhD Degrees) Regulations, 2022 and amendments thereto from time to time.

University of Rajasthan PhD Admission 2026 Selection Process:
1. Admission to the PhD programme shall be based on the score of the UGC NET (National Eligibility Test)/ UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests for the particular course as notified in clause 18 of O.124 (Notification 40) and the interview conducted by the University. 2. Candidates shall be called for an interview based on their percentile in UGC NET (National Eligibility Test)/ UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar national-level tests. The number of candidates invited for the interview shall be twice the number of notified PhD seats in the respective Department/Centre. The merit list shall be prepared according to UGC notice No.F.4-1 Page 13 of 40 (UGC Review Committee)/ 2024 (NET)/140648/ dated 27th March 2024. 3. The Interview shall carry 100 Marks with the internal distribution.

University of Rajasthan PhD Admission 2026-27 About University / Institute: 

On the 8th of January 1947, the University of Rajputana appeared like a nascent star on the educational horizon of pre-independent India.

The efforts for a separate University for Rajputana State were initiated as early as 1921, when the Act for the Allahabad University was passed. The Act prescribed for separation of Intermediate classes from the Degree classes as a condition for affiliation, which meant more expenditure for the then colleges at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer, the only colleges then imparting University education and affiliated to Allahabad University. The location of the University became a controversial issue. The question was considered in all its aspects at a meeting called by the Agent to the Governor General in Rajputana and attended by the ruling Princes and Chiefs at Mt. Abu on 20 June 1924.
